All the treats
Have fun this Halloween by creating your own ghoulishly great sweets and treats!
Spending time together in the kitchen is a spook-tacular activity to enjoy with your little monster.
Read on to discover some simple Halloween makes and bakes for a frightfully fun half-term holiday.
Spooky apple slices
Our chocolate-dipped apple slices are so simple and tasty, and also a great option for a fruit-boost.
Slice your apple into thick discs (discard the one with the core) and push them onto lollipop sticks.
You can use chocolate biscuit sticks to create arms or legs, and then dip or spoon over melted chocolate. Finish them off with some chocolate chip eyes.
Top tip - try incorporating a little melted white chocolate for striped or marbled design.
Pumpkin soup
For a more substantial option, enjoy this family-friendly, warming and spicy veg-packed soup. It is a great way to use up your pumpkin and stop it from being wasted. For more pumpkin recycling ideas, take a look here.
Don't forget to save your seeds when carving so you can roast and sprinkle over the top for the perfect garnish.
Vibrant veggies
Get creative with vegetables this Halloween. They will look so appealing no little vampire will be able to resist!
From creative cuts to platters that will wow, healthy snacking has never seemed so tempting.
Creepy biscuits
If you're short on time, a great option is to decorate biscuits.
Make water icing by gradually adding drops of water to icing sugar until you have a smooth, opaque consistency.
You can use a sandwich bag for piping. Just fill it with icing and snip off a corner.
Little hands can have a great time creating spider webs, mummy bandages, or skeleton bones - no precision required!
Pumpkin muffins
Another great way to get the most from your pumpkin after carving is baking these cinnamon-spiced muffins which are light, fluffy and delicious!
We added cream cheese frosting for an extra treat, but you could also use water icing for creative cake doodles.
Monstrous meringues
For a surprisingly easy sweet treat, why not give mini meringues a go? Whisking is a great activity for energetic little ones and you only need two ingredients!
You can get creative with the shapes you create, and our sandwich bag piping tip above works well here too.
We hope you have enjoyed our spook-tacular Halloween ideas. Is your tummy rumbling like ours?!
