Our inspiration
This season Jo, our founder, was drawn to the fascinating role of play in our children’s development:
“Through the creation of this collection we have found out how important play is, particularly in the formative years, for children and animals alike. I have always found it amazing to see how play builds confidence and skills, so to be able to explore that in our designs has been really rewarding.”
Special colours
Each season Jo starts the design process by curating a coordinated colour palette that creates the building blocks for the collection.
These carefully selected and
beautiful colours complement each other and provide so many mix and match opportunities across our styles.
In this collection you'll find sea inspired blues, playful pinks and all the hues of the perfect summer sunset, each combining to create this fabulous range.
Perfect prints
Our ideas are then lovingly brought to life through our wonderful prints.
Each design is thoughtfully created with passion and care and then hand drawn by our in-house artist, Elizabeth.
With so much on offer there is sure to be a print for everyone.
The stories behind the designs
Discover why our range is packed with fabulous florals, beautiful bugs, farm animals and more.
Pup and duck
An unusual friendship, but one that is sure to be fun-filled, is that of our adorable pup and duck.
The cheerful thought of them spending their days playing and chasing each other around became the inspiration behind our new gorgeous baby print. Chirp, chirp, woof woof!
Dolphin dive
The ocean is a vast underwater playground full of exciting and fun opportunities for those living within it.
Young bottlenose dolphins love to play catch with one another using bits of seaweed. This helps them create bonds and improve their coordination.
Once we found this out we could not resist creating this wonderful design to celebrate these amazing animals.
Farm play
Feel the fun with our farm play print. A day playing on the farm brings so much happiness to little ones and we can learn a lot from our animal friends.
Did you know that cows have impressive memories? They can remember their homes and often find their way back to their favourite spots!
Giraffe and ele
It can sometimes be hard to imagine these magnificent mammals as babies because they don't stay small for long!
So we wanted to celebrate these adorable youngsters through our giraffe and ele print. We think they are just so cute and we hope you agree!
Ladybird ditsy
In many cultures ladybirds are considered good luck. These beautiful bugs are pretty, graceful and harmless to humans and farmers love them because they eat aphids and other plant-eating pests.
We love to imagine them playing together so we have used this idea to help create a truly stand-out print.
Petal press
We adore all things floral here at Kite and this season we were inspired by the idea of pressing flowers because it is a fun activity for all ages to enjoy and a lovely way to preserve memories.
Have you ever given it a go? Maybe our pretty print will inspire you.
Splish splash
Who doesn't love splish splashing around in the bath? This fabulous rainbow print was inspired by the laughter and learning that bathtime brings.
Little ones can learn all about the wonder of water, as well as play with lots of toys whilst getting clean at the same time. Win, win!
Cat kingdom
How many big cats can you spot? This print includes a cat species from every continent. The clouded leopard pups from Asia are particularly lively and use play to prepare themselves for real life situations as they grow up.
Octopus
These fascinating eight-limbed invertebrates are highly intelligent. They are masters of camouflage and use this skill to protect themselves by blending in with their surroundings. We love imagining them teasing their predators with a quick colour change!
Little Joey
Enjoy having a snooze? Well so do our furry friends! Koalas don’t have much energy so when not feasting on leaves, they spend their time dozing in the branches. Believe it or not, they can sleep for up to 18 hours a day.
