Feel-good outfits
A little while ago, we arranged a mini personal shopping experience for some of our team.
We asked Jo, our founder and head designer, to select styles she felt would fit and flatter and give everyone the confidence to join in with a Kite photoshoot.
“Kite is made up of a fantastic bunch of women (and men) of all different ages, shapes and sizes. I love seeing what they choose to wear from our collections.
I was very excited to be asked to select styles for some of the team and join in with them too! I wanted them to feel really good in their outfits and perhaps encourage them to try something new.
We had so much fun taking photos together, it was a great experience for us all.”
We recently snuck a few minutes with Jo to learn about her selections and discover a few styling tips. Read on to discover our team style.
Lauren
"I knew Lauren would look fantastic bringing the sunshine in our stunning Hartgrove dress (new for this season).
As one of our talented garment technologists, Lauren worked tirelessly to perfect the fit of this dress. She wear-tested one of the very first samples a year ago, and I knew she was desperate to finally get to try one of the finished products.
Since the summer months arrived, this dress, and its very popular giraffy sister, have been worn constantly around the office. It's safe to say we are all a little obsessed!"
Maggie
"As Maggie is one of our operations whizzes and mum to an active little one, I knew she would need something easy and comfortable.
Our Melbury trousers are a great choice as they are cool and relaxed in the heat. (Did you know we also have them in our lovely Daisy Bell print?)
Our Bucknowle top is soft and stylish, perfect to wear all summer long.
And, if you are lovely and tall like Maggie, they work as stylish cropped trousers. Alternatively, they look great worn full length on shorter people like me!"
Ally
"Our sales superstar, Ally, is regularly out and about meeting our wonderful stockists and showing them our collections.
To bring the brand to life, she needs a selection of smart casual styles that really showcase the collection. I particularly love the Chettle dress on her.
The A-Line shape is so flattering and really comfortable to wear for a day on-the-go, and the jungle print is perfect for summer."
Verity
"I chose to put our marketing assistant, Verity, in the Highcliffe wrap dress because it is such a flattering style.
She has worn some of our previous wrap dresses around the office so I know it’s a shape she loves - and she receives lots of compliments because it suits her so well!"
Ozay
"Ozay, our magic merchandiser, is a busy working mum so I wanted to choose something that would be really flexible for work and home.
Our Stalbridge denim skirt is a great choice for wearing in the office and goes with so many tops too. I’m sure she’ll be reaching for it again and again.
The Sandford top is a reimagining of our childrenswear fun fair print which brings an element of fun that really suits Ozay’s personality."
Jo
"For myself, I had to choose the new Sandley knit vest top. I absolutely love the soft rainbow stripe, it's perfect for introducing a little colour into your wardrobe.
The Evershot trousers are one of my favourite styles from the collection because they are so versatile. I love the quality hand feel and they go with absolutely everything - they are my 'must-have' for the season."
